What a beautiful day we had for our late summer walk along the Meigle & Ardler Community Trail! A group of walkers started at one end of the trail in Meigle, while the rest began at the other end in Ardler, and we met in the middle for chat and refreshments.
MACDT Chair, Bob Ellis, unveiled the trail way-marker logo, which was designed and created by trustee Ali Napier. Ali has cleverly combined the Pictish traditions of Meigle with the more recent railway history of Ardler to produce a fabulous design which is relevant to both villages, as well as the MAC Trail which links them.
We talked about the developments which are underway and gave local residents the opportunity to sign up for various volunteer roles, which include creative input for the poetry and heritage aspects of the trail and and keeping the path accessible. We even had a few sign ups for our resilience group.
Thanks go to SOEC Belmont for allowing us to use their archery field, and Meigle and Ardler Community Council for the use of their gazebo. If you would like to be part of the development of the trail, please get in touch.
