Meigle Old Pavilion Update – Temporary Fencing

Meigle and Ardler Community Development Trust is starting an exciting journey to restore  the Bowling Club’s historic Old Pavilion building.

We have successfully bid for funding from the Architectural Heritage Fund to undertake a viability survey on the Old Pavilion Building. This survey has already started and will be completed over the next two months.

As part of an initial assessment by our experienced heritage engineer, it was identified that, due to years of disuse,  certain structural elements of the Old Pavilion are at risk, and could also pose a risk to people visiting the Bowling Green

Therefore, MACDT has made the decision that fencing will be placed around the building on a temporary basis. This will make sure that the building and anyone visiting the Bowling Green is safe. The contents of the building have been moved to a secure dry storage space.

The viability survey is the first stage in a complex process. We aim to involve the local community at every stage, and build on the community engagement we’ve already done.

Keep up to date with progress here on our website and on Facebook
